We run these on a Xichai CA6DM2-42E52 inline-six, 11.04 liters, putting out 420hp at 1900 rpm with 2100 N·m of torque. Euro 2 emission standard, mechanical fuel injection, no fancy electronics to fail in the middle of nowhere. Displacement is on the larger side, which is exactly what you want when you're pulling 40 tons up a 6% grade at 1500 meters elevation.

The gearbox is a FAW CA12TAX210 — 12 forward, 2 reverse, all-aluminum housing to keep weight down. Clutch is a 430mm EATON single-plate, hydraulic assist. Front axle rated 7 tons, rear tandem 457 rated 18 tons combined, with a 4.111 or 3.727 ratio depending on your running territory. Drum brakes all around with ABS, plus engine exhaust brake as standard.

Cab is the J7 high-roof, four-point air suspension, A/C, electric windows, air-suspended driver's seat. Wheelbase options: 3300+1350mm or 3450+1350mm depending on trailer pin position. Tire spec is 12R22.5 tubeless, ten wheels plus spare. Fuel tank runs 600 liters aluminum, which on diesel consumption around 35L/100km gives you roughly 1,700 km range between fills.

Maintenance intervals on the driveline run 50,000 to 100,000 km, and the ConMet hub units are basically maintenance-free up to 500,000 km.
